One Killed, Three Injured in Ector County Accident

ECTOR COUNTY – An Odessa man is dead and three others were injured in an accident on Friday night.

The accident happened on Loop 338, about three miles south of Odessa.

DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling west on Bates Field Road and failed to yield the right of way to a 2013 Nissan Versa traveling south on Loop 338.

The driver of the Cruze, 34-year-old Joshua Roy Marques, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers in the Cruze, 41-year-old Michelle C. Patino and 16-year-old Daniel Patino, were taken to Medical Center Hospital. Michelle was listed in critical condition and Daniel was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Nissan Versa, 17-year-old Madison Barrett, was taken to Medical Center Hospital where she was treated and released.

Officials tell NewsWest 9, Marques was not wearing a seatbelt.
