MIDLAND - A Midland man surrendered to authorities last week for hurting an elderly man during a break in earlier this month.

Officers were called out to a burglary in progress at a home in the 1000 block of West Michigan about two weeks ago.

The victim told police he heard a loud noise while he was asleep.

When he went to check it out, he found 23-year-old Rodolfo Galindo, Junior, shirtless with only half of his body inside the house.

The victim tried to shut the door and force Galindo outside but he shoved back on the door causing the victim to fall and scrape his arm.

The victim ended up having to get stitches.

When officers caught up with him, Galindo confessed saying that he was intoxicated when he went to what he thought was his girlfriend's house.

He had no idea the victim was hurt.

Galindo is now facing felony charges of injury to the elderly.
