Man Critically Injured After Being Ejected from Motorcycle

ODESSA – One man was seriously injured following a motorcycle accident in Odessa.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, the accident happened in the 1600 block of East 42nd Street just after 10:45 p.m. Wednesday night.

According to the report, an investigation revealed that a white Honda motorcycle was traveling westbound in the 1600 block of East 42nd Street at a high rate of speed.

That's when the motorcycle hit the back of a 1996 Toyota Camry that was also traveling westbound.

The driver of the motorcycle, 32-year-old Johnny Silvas, was ejected from the motorcycle.

We're told Silvas was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Silvas was taken to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury and is currently listed in critical condition.

The investigation into the accident continues.
