MIDLAND - A local organization is making it easier for girls in West Texas to get the prom dress of their dreams. It is all thanks to several people and businesses who donated dresses to 3:11 Ministries' Perfect PROMise Project.

Randi Smith, a 3:11 Ministries Board Member, said,  "We have over 200 prom dresses that have been donated. We actually set up appointments for these girls to come in and pick out a dress that's their size and we allow them to pick out their favorite color as well. We hope that it is something that will really make them feel special."

This is the first annual Perfect PROMise Project, which was started to help young ladies receive a prom dress who may not have been able to afford one. Their main goal is to make these girl's high school prom a memorable night in the perfect dress.

"It is a great feeling to know that these girls can come in and pick out a dress and know that no matter what the price tag might have been, they don't have to worry about that and their families don't have to worry about getting them to prom and getting them dressed for prom," said Smith.

3:11 Ministries has several projects throughout the year, but this is the first time they have hosted The Perfect PROMise, and it was all made possible by several local businesses in Midland.

"We really want to thank Jamie's Evening Wear, A.J's Boutique, Pink Tumbleweed, Let's Face It and Mint Salon. All of them have either stepped up and allowed us to use them as a drop-off location or have donated dresses or helped in some way," said Smith.

Donations are still being accepted by 3:11 Ministries and The Perfect PROMise and they are always looking for more volunteers.

"We couldn't do it alone. We had so many people come in and offer to help, we had volunteers, several companies, businesses, individual donors, just everybody has come together and it really makes our project successful," said Smith.
