MIDLAND - A Midland woman has been arrested for murder in a case originally called a suicide.
24-year-old Jessica Caro turned herself in on Wednesday night.
The same day the midland police department had issued a warrant for her arrest.
On February 4, Police were called to an apparent suicide.
They found 22-year-old Krysta Copeland in a house in the 1400 block of East Jax Avenue.
Copeland had a single gunshot wound to her head.
It was originally called a suicide but the autopsy revealed it was actually a homicide.
The Medical Examiner told investigators the gunshot came from a distance farther than the victims reach.
Caro told police she was not in the room when the gun went off but a gunshot residue test showed she had recently fired or handled a gun.
This isn't the first time Caro has been in trouble with the law.
Back in 2013, she was arrested for breaking into a home and beating up a woman.
