ECTOR COUNTY – A hot check warrant roundup in Ector County collected almost $16,000 for local merchants.
The Ector County Attorney's Office tells NewsWest 9, during the month of February individuals were given the opportunity to resolve their cases without getting arrested.
As of April 1, 83 cases were resolved.
According to the release, over 50 percent of the open warrants were resolved in February and March.
Officials want to remind individuals that if you have a warrant for a dishonored check, you can go to the Attorney's Office at the Courthouse, room 201 or call (432) 498-4153, pay for your check and the associated costs and the warrant will be withdrawn.
If you fail to do so, you will be arrested and taken into custody.
