HOBBS, N.M. - A Hobbs woman got into hot water after leading authorities on a chase with a child in the vehicle.
31-year-old Ashley Rodriquez is facing multiple charges including reckless driving and child abuse.
When an officer tried to pull her over in the 200 block of West Llano Street on Saturday evening, she sped off.
Police later spotted her on Llano and Sanger and followed her into an alley on Lincoln and Steven Street.
Officers tried signaling another traffic stop but Rodriquez suddenly reversed, hitting a patrol car then took off again.
She finally came to a stop at the stripes on West County and Marland after one of the vehicle's tires fell off.
That's when police found a 4-year-old girl in the SUV with her.
According to the affidavit, Rodriquez had been responsible for a crash that injured one person.
