Stabbing Suspect Arrested in Odessa

ODESSA – An arrest has been made in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Tuesday morning in Odessa.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 400 block of East Odessa just before 11 a.m. in reference to a stab victim.

As police were on the way to the scene, dispatch reported that the suspect was wearing a gray shirt and black shorts and police found the suspect when they arrived.

According to the report, an investigation revealed that 22-year-old Terrence Gibson became irate with his 72-year-old grandfather and he went and retrieved a kitchen knife.

Officials say Gibson stabbed his grandfather in the abdomen area and hit him with a closed fist.

We're told that Gibson admitted to stabbing his grandfather when he was detained.

Gibson has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence).
