ODESSA – One man has been arrested following an aggravated robbery on Friday night.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 4100 block of East 42nd in reference to an armed robbery that had occurred in the mall parking lot.
When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with a 34-year-old female who told police that while she was sitting inside her vehicle, a Hispanic male approached her, pointed a gun at her and ordered her to get out of the vehicle.
The suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Adrian Dominguez, fled the scene with the victim's vehicle in an unknown direction.
An attempt to locate was placed through dispatch and officers began searching for the stolen vehicle. At approximately 7:59 p.m., officers located the stolen vehicle in the Sam's Club parking lot. A male subject sitting inside the vehicle matched the suspect's description.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver exited the vehicle but refused to follow commands given by officers. The suspect began running westbound through the parking lot and crossed JBS Parkway before being caught and apprehended by officers near the Golden Corral parking lot.
The suspect gave a false name but was later identified as Dominguez. Dispatch advised that Dominguez had two warrants out of Midland County, including a felony theft warrant.
