Water Ordinance Going to Effect in Hobbs

HOBBS, N.M. - With warm weather season approaching, the City of Hobbs is conserving water.

The City of Hobbs passed a water ordinance last Fall.

Restrictions will go into effect on May 15.

If you have an even numbered address, you will be able to water on even calendar days.

Odd numbered addresses will be able to water on odd numbered calendar days.

No watering will be allowed on the 31st day of the month.

Watering must be done between 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

All of this is being done to preserve the supply in the Ogallala Aquifer.
