ODESSA - Sometimes slow and steady win the race, but not when it comes to stealing and you're in front of surveillance cameras even longer. Back in November, the man in the red plaid shirt seen on camera walked in to Star Video on South Crane apparently looking for something in particular.

"The owner or clerk, whatever she is, had come in and laid her keys, her wallet, her sunglasses and her cell phone on the back side of the counter," Susan Rogers with Odessa Crime Stoppers said.

With a keen eye for pricey merchandise, our suspect walked over to the side of the counter where she placed them. While she was busy helping another customer, he took it as an opportunity to swipe them one by one.

Even though it happened in November, that doesn't mean we're not looking for him.

"We have a lot of this happen throughout the community and we can't run them all the week that they happen you know, so we kind of let time go by," Rogers explained. "Plus, you know, this guy probably thinks he's gotten away with it, he's not hiding out, he's not too worried about it right now."

The suspect stuffed the stolen items into his jacket and apparently changed his mind about a movie night and walked right out the door.

"This is excellent video. Very, very good video. Someone will recognize this guy. His face is very clear, the way he's dressed, that cap he's got on, you know somebody will see this," Rogers said. "We'll be getting this guy, I'm not worried about this one."

If you think you recognize him, please call Odessa Crime Stoppers at 333-TIPS and you may get a cash reward.
