CARLSBAD, N.M. - A Carlsbad, New Mexico, man is behind bars after a hit and run accident back in January.
34-year-old Ricardo Serrano was arrested on Tuesday for one count of accidents involving death or personal injuries, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of driving while license suspended.
According to the report, Serrano struck 28-year-old Robert Rodriguez with his vehicle in the 400 block of North Halagueno Street after leaving a local bar. Witnesses also told police that Serrano was driving recklessly on Canal Street after he left the bar.
Rodriguez was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock for treatment.
A later investigation revealed that Serrano had recently changed his front windshield at a glass repair center in El Paso, Texas.
