ODESSA - More than 100 images and five videos of child pornography were found on an Odessa man's computer. Homeland Security Investigators (HSI) arrested 25-year-old Mark Mendoza on Friday from his home in the 1100 block of Jeter Avenue, just a few hundred feet away from Hays Magnet Elementary.

One neighbor, who did not want his face shown, said he was shocked it could happen so close to a school and said was a chaotic scene when agents raided Mendoza's home. "Well my wife called me and she said something was in the area and she was seeing a lot of police and she was very scared," he said.

According to the complaint, HSI agents received a tip after Mendoza uploaded at least one picture of child pornography using a G-Mail account. That image was reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Once they were able to find his email account, they discovered several messages between Mendoza and other suspects about exchanging child porn.

Most of the images described in the court documents portray young boys. At one point, Mendoza even states that he will be "making some" pictures soon, and mentioned a young family member to another suspect, which was something that neighbors were disturbed to hear.

"My family's my priority. If something happened with them, it's much harder. It's much better he's away," a neighbor said.

People who lived with Mendoza did not want to speak on camera but said he's lived in their home for over a year and mostly kept to himself. Those who live on Jeter Avenue said they're glad he will be locked up for a long time.
