MIDLAND - The Midland Fire Department is getting a brand new truck thanks to a donation.
On Tuesday, Concho Resources gave the fire department keys to a mini pumper fire truck.
The new addition to the fleet is built to take on almost any emergency, including wildfires, firefighting in close quarters like parking garages, along with EMS and rescue operations.
Fire Chief Robert Isbell says the pumper can extinguish home fires quickly and with less water than a typical engine.
“Their donation of this mini pumper just shows their investment in public safety and their community,” said Isbell.
“The community is very important to us the selfless actions of these men and women and all of our public servants are very important to us, they keep us all safe,” said Scott Kidwell, Concho Vice-President of Government and Public Affairs.
Concho has made several donations to the city this year including new technology for the police department and money to renovate Fasken Park.
