Gun Fired During Armed Robbery in Odessa

ODESSA – A search is underway for an armed robbery suspect in Odessa.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, a man walked into the Subway in the 1900 block of East 42nd Street around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.

We're told a gun was fired during the confrontation between the suspect and the clerk at the business, however no one sustained serious injuries.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his early 20's, 5'10" tall weighing 135 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a blue shirt and white tank top with black pants.

The man also has either a scar or a scratch under his left eye.

As a result of the robbery, Permian High School was placed under a shelter in place for about 20 minutes until District Police believed the suspect fled the area.
