ODESSA- Odessa Police got information of a gun located at the bottom of the pond at Buffalo Wallow Park. Police got assistance from the D.P.S. dive team to search the bottom of the pond. For hours, the divers combed the pond in search for a gun that could have been used in a murder.

"They are looking for a firearm or part of a firearm in this lake in connection with the Third Edition Apartments homicide. The homicide occurred earlier this year," said. Odessa Police, Cpl. Steve LeSueur.

32-year-old Ismael Rios was at the apartments back on January 18 when he was shot multiple times. Rios was taken to Medical Center Hospital where he died a short time later.

Police arrested 20-year-old Marko Mendoza, who they say pulled the trigger. Along with Mendoza, police also arrested 19-year-old Manuel Garcia Carbajal who was with Mendoza. Both men are facing murder charges.

"At this time, we have not found anything. We anticipate to be out here all day and the investigation continues," said LeSueur.

Odessa Police and the dive team wrapped up the search around 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
