HOBBS, N.M. – One man is behind bars on burglary charges.
Hobbs Police tell NewsWest 9, an arrest warrant was issued for 47-year-old Steven Brito for commercial burglary in regards to an incident at a local Hobbs business.
During the investigation, it was learned that Brito was a suspect in several other commercial burglaries in Hobbs and the surrounding area where numerous tools and electronics were stolen.
Officials say over $9,300 worth of property was stolen.
A few days later, an additional arrest warrant was issued for Brito. He was charged with six additional counts of commercial burglary, six counts of tampering with evidence and one count of possession of burglary tools.
Brito is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
