Lubbock Man Arrested on Several Charges in Odessa

ODESSA – A Lubbock man is behind bars following a traffic stop in Odessa on Tuesday.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officers saw a green Chevrolet truck fail to stop at a designated point at Snyder and Dixie.

A traffic stop was conducted and the front passenger gave a name and date of birth that was fake.

According to the report, officers could also smell marijuana coming from the truck.

Officers searched the truck and they found marijuana along with $8,220 in cash.

When officers got to the jail, the passenger was identified as 37-year-old William Tryon, Jr.

An investigation also revealed that Tryon had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest.

Tryon has been charged with theft of a firearm (warrant), false identification – fugitive from justice, possession of marijuana and false identification (warrant).
