Man Shot in Hobbs Following Aggravated Battery Call

HOBBS, N.M. – One man is recovering after being shot over the weekend.

Hobbs Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 200 block of West Lea Street in reference to a man being shot.

When officers arrived, they found 39-year-old Gerald Martinez in the backyard of a residence suffering for a gunshot wound.

Martinez was taken to Lea Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to a Lubbock hospital where he is currently in stable condition.
