ODESSA – One man is behind bars on some serious charges following an incident on Monday.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 2100 block of North Adams in reference to a family disturbance.
When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with 33-year-old Joel Maldonado, who was one of the involved parties.
According to the report, while the officers were talking with Maldonado, he began striking Officers Donny Rocha and Joseph Oakes.
Maldonado then forced Officer Rocha into a wall causing a hole in the wall from Rocha's head hitting it.
Maldonado then fought Officer Oakes, causing visible injuries to his left arm.
Both officers were injured in the incident but neither officer was taken to the hospital.
Maldonado is facing two counts of assault on a public servant.
