ODESSA – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that happened last week at the High Plains Apartments in Odessa.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, 18-year-old Andrew Roman was arrested on Wednesday in the 2100 block of East 46th Street.

As you may recall, it all started after Odessa Police were called out to Medical Center Hospital in reference to a gunshot victim.

When officers arrived at the hospital, they made contact with 17-year-old Jonathan Jaquez, who reported that he had been shot and robbed.

Two other people also reported that they were robbed and one of those people was also assaulted.

An investigation revealed that all three people were at the High Plains Apartments and Roman struck one of the victims in the head with a gun and shot Jaquez in the leg.

Roman robbed all three victims by stealing their cell phones along with some cash.

Officials say when Roman was arrested on Wednesday, he was found to be in possession of marijuana and Xanax pills without a prescription.

Roman has been charged with aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
