MIDLAND - Midland City Council members approved new gear for the police and fire departments.

45 bunker coats and 45 bunker pants will be purchased for the fire department.

That will cost the city around $90,000.

New camera systems are being bought for the police department.

The city will pay just over $121,000 for that equipment.

Concho Resources has also donated money to help the police department get some new equipment.

That donation will go toward crime scene drawing software for the Crime Scene Investigation Unit as well as new training equipment and the rebuild of ten rifles for the SWAT team.
