ODESSA - A 17-year-old male is in the hospital with a gunshot wound following a robbery in Odessa on Friday afternoon.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to Medical Center Hospital in reference to a gunshot victim around 2:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, 17-year-old Jonathan Jaquez reported that he had been shot and robbed.

Officers also made contact with two other people who reported that they were also robbed.

An investigation revealed that while all three victims were at High Plains Apartments in the 3700 block of Andrews Highway, a known person struck one of the victims in the head with a gun then shot Jaquez in the leg.

Officials say the suspect then robbed all three victims by stealing their cell phones along with some money.

One victim was transported to Odessa Regional Medical Center with bodily injury and Jaquez was also taken to ORMC but was later taken to Medical Center Hospital.

We're told that no arrests have been made yet and investigators are still processing the scene at the apartment complex.

The investigation into the shooting continues.
