ODESSA – One man is behind bars on aggravated robbery charges following an incident on Monday in Odessa.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to La Tienda on West Clements in reference to a shoplifter.
When officers arrived, store employees reported to police that a male subject placed merchandise into a bag and tried to leave the store without paying for the items.
The employees told police that as they confronted the man, later identified as 67-year-old Raymond Sepulbeda, Jr., displayed a knife and threatened an employee by extending the blade towards the employee.
That's when police showed up and immediately detained Sepulbeda.
Officers later found a bag of merchandise inside Sepulbeda's vehicle and he was arrested.
The total value of the items stolen was approximately $43.
No injuries were reported.
