Man Attempts to Flee From Police, Caught With 17 Grams of Methamphetamine

ODESSA – One man is facing several charges after an incident in Odessa over the weekend.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officers observed a white Chevrolet Tahoe begin to slide and later hit the curb at the intersection of 42nd Street and Grandview.

Officers made contact with the driver who was identified as 27-year-old Moses Dena.

According to the report, a warrant check found that Dena had a first degree felony parole violation warrant.

When officers went back to make contact with Dena, he began to run northbound on 42nd Street and into the HEB parking lot. He ran across the HEB parking lot and crossed Grandview into the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot.

We're told an Odessa Police officer working off-duty at Buffalo Wild Wings caught Dena and took him into custody.

Further investigation revealed that Dena had a prior conviction for evading in Taylor County.

When officers later searched Dena's vehicle, they found just over 17 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Dena has been charged with manufacture or delivery of methamphetamine, evading arrest or detention with prior convictions and for a first degree felony parole violation.
