BIG SPRING – One man is behind bars after a storage building fire in Big Spring early Friday morning.
Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 1400 block of Wood in reference to a structure fire.
When fire officials arrived on the scene, the building was fully engulfed.
We're told during the investigation, the person responsible for starting the fire was still on the scene.
Big Spring Police later contacted 42-year-old Steven Rodriguez who admitted to starting the fire which resulted in damage to the property.
Officials say Rodriguez had an active criminal trespass warning for the address.
As Rodriguez was being taken into custody, officials say he resisted arrest.
Rodriguez has been charged with arson, criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
