LOVINGTON, N.M. - The Superintendent of the Lovington School District has resigned.

Superintendent Darin Manes turned in his resignation to the school board at Tuesday night's meeting.

School officials tell NewsWest 9, the resignation will go into effect on June 30 and Manes has been reassigned to the position of administrative consultant.

There's no word on why Manes turned in his resignation letter but the school board and Manes came to a mutual agreement over it.
