Woman Arrested on Charges of Failure to Stop and Render Aid

ODESSA - One woman is behind bars following an incident in Odessa last month.

Odessa Police were called out to the intersection of Northeast Loop 338 and Highway 191 in reference to an accident.

According to the report, just after the crash everyone involved in the accident moved into the parking lot of a nearby business where the victim attempted to speak with the driver of a silver 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.

The driver was later identified as 25-year-old Laura Allen.

According to statements, Allen was intoxicated and refused to wait on the police who were on the way.

The victim and her husband attempted to detain Allen to prevent her from leaving and causing another crash.

When Allen learned that the police were called, Allen got back into her car and put the vehicle into reverse with the driver's door still open.

That's when the victim was hit by the door and knocked to the ground.

The victim's husband then reach reached into Allen's car and put the car in park while yelling at Allen for running over his wife.

Allen then got out of her vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

The victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle with injuries.

Allen was arrested on Tuesday afternoon and charged.
