Big Spring Police Investigating Morning Shooting

BIG SPRING – Big Spring Police are investigating following a morning shooting.

Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9, they responded to the 1600 block of Oriole in reference to numerous shots fired.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 16-year-old male was shot twice inside of a home.

The 16-year-old was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to his right hand and left arm. He was later taken to a Lubbock hospital with non-life threatening injuries

According to the report, officers found that someone had stood outside of the home and fired at least six shots through the home's picture window and hit the 16-year-old while he was sleeping on a couch.

Police report that numerous witnesses heard the shots but no one saw anything.

We're told no motive has been established.
