El Paso Man Charged With Intoxication Manslaughter Following Deadly Accident

MIDLAND COUNTY – An El Paso man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following a deadly weekend accident in Midland County.

Midland Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 6100 block of Highway 191 late Sunday night.

When they arrived on the scene, they found 26-year-old Anthony Bennett of Odessa dead on the scene.

We're told that Bennett had been traveling in the westbound lanes of highway 191 in a Ford Escort when his vehicle collided head-on with a Nissan Frontier that was traveling in the wrong direction.

The driver of the Nissan Frontier, 26-year-old Joaquin Arce of El Paso, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Arce has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
