ODESSA – One man is behind bars on kidnapping and burglary charges after an incident on Wednesday.
Odessa Police were called out to the 1400 block of South Alleghaney in reference to a disturbance.
When officers arrived on the scene, a complainant told police that her 25-year-old friend had been assaulted by her 25-year-old friend's stepfather and taken against her will.
An investigation revealed that 39-year-old Agustin Montoya entered his step-daughter's residence without consent.
According to the report, Montoya forcefully grabbed his step-daughter and dragged her to his vehicle. Witnesses told police that the victim ran back to the residence only to have Montoya grab the victim by her hair and dragged her back to his vehicle again.
Montoya then fled the scene northbound on South Alleghaney.
Officers later located Montoya and the victim at his home in the 700 block of Lindberg.
