Two People Arrested for Andrews ATM Theft

ANDREWS – Two people have been arrested for attempting to steal an ATM in Andrews.

Police were called out to First Basin Credit Union in Andrews around 4:15 a.m. Monday morning when an alarm went off at the location.

When officers drove up to the scene, they saw a forklift rammed into an ATM machine.

Two men, 19-year-old Juan Diego Garcia was running away from the scene. 21-year-old Julian Gomez was arrested after police obtained an arrest warrant.

Andrews Police tell NewsWest 9, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been notified.

Officials say that there was significant damage to the ATM and it is most likely destroyed.

No money was taken from the ATM.
