Odessa Police Searching For UPS Truck Thieves

ODESSA – Odessa Police are looking for two men who stole a UPS Truck on Friday night.

Officials tell NewsWest 9, the theft happened just before 7:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of Brentwood.

We're told a UPS driver dropped off a package to a home and when he got back into his truck, a Black male, approximately 40 years old, and a White male, approximately 35 years old were inside the truck.

According to the report, the Black male showed a gun to the UPS driver and told the driver to start driving.

The driver got back into the truck but began fighting with both men. At one point, when the Black male wasn't looking, the UPS driver was abe to grab the gun but it fell into the street.

At that point, the white male starting running north on Brentwood and as the UPS driver went into the street, the black male took off westbound on University with the truck and all the packages.

That's when the driver went back to the last house he delivered a package to and contacted police.

The driver was scratched up but suffered minor injuries.

On Saturday morning, someone called in a suspicious UPS truck in the 3100 block of Redwood.

We're told it was the truck but several packages were stolen.
