State Representative Tom Craddick broke a record when he was sworn into office on Tuesday.
He began serving his 24th consecutive legislative session making him the longest serving member of the state legislature.
Craddick wasn't able to go to Austin for the swearing-in ceremony because he is still recovering from back surgery.
When he completes this term in 2017, he will have served the Lone Star State for 48 years.
