PECOS COUNTY - Pecos County EMS is getting a brand new GPS system.

At Monday morning's meeting, County Commissioners approved purchasing “Cop Sync.”

Paramedics have been relying on their smart phones and an older, less reliable GPS system to get around.

With Cop Sync, they'll be using that as a mapping tool to make it easier and more efficient to find locations when being called out to an emergency.

Cop Sync is mainly used by law enforcement and Pecos County EMS will be one of the first to use the system.

It will cost $22,000 to install it in all four of their ambulances.
