ODESSA – Two people are behind bars after an incident in Odessa.
Odessa Police were called out to 31st Street and Henderson in reference to subjects possibly attempting to break into a business.
When officers arrived on the scene, they saw a tan 2005 Chevrolet Malibu with two people inside the vehicle.
Officers made contact with the two people in the vehicle but a female in the vehicle gave false information to officers.
When officers started searching the female's purse, they found two identification cards belonging to two separate names, along with Social Security cards.
The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Dustin Travis and the female, who was later identified as 24-year-old Lyndsey Peppin, told detectives they knew the items were stolen.
Further investigation revealed that Peppin had a theft warrant for her arrest.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers found several prescriptions with pill prescribed to different people as well as five subject's identification cards.
Peppin is facing charges of fraud – possessing identifying information, false identification – fugitive from justice, possession of a dangerous drug and theft of property.
Travis is facing charges of fraud – possessing identifying information, wrong, fictitious, altered or obscured license plate and two misdemeanor warrants.
