A Girl Scout troop partnered with a local charity to help raise money for an after school program.
Troop 46 invited everyone to come out and purchase 50 cent books.
All of the proceeds went to help the Casa de Amigos after school program.
Casa de Amigos says the after school program does a lot of good to help the community and they are grateful for the help from the Girl Scouts.
“The youth program does several things but one of the specific things they do is after school tutoring for kiddos that are in neighborhood schools, any school in Midland actually can participate. But kiddos come after school, we have homework help and individual homework help and resources to help the kiddos so they can excel in school,” Tonya Eckert, Executive Director at CASA de Amigos, said.
This was the Troops Silver Badge Project, the second best award in Girl Scouts.
