UPDATE: Midland Police Investigating Armed Bank Robbery, Search Underway For Suspect

MIDLAND - Midland Police are on the scene of a armed bank robbery in Midland.

The robbery happened at the Chase Bank in the 3200 block of Courtyard, just east of the Midland Park Mall just before 4:30 p.m.

Officials tell NewsWest 9, the suspect showed a gun to a clerk inside the bank and the teller gave the suspect an unknown amount of money.

The man was described as a Hispanic male, 5'8" tall wearing a orange bandana. We're told the suspect was also wearing a pink hoodie but he took that off near the Toys 'R Us store near the bank.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been called to the scene as well as the DPS helicopter is in the air searching for the suspect.

K-9's from Midland Police have also been called in to help in the search.

There were no injuries to anyone inside the bank at the time of the robbery.
