BIG SPRING - Highway 87 North of Big Spring is currently closed to all traffic while officials address a hazardous chemical spill.
A tanker truck rolled over at the intersection of FM 700 and Highway 87 and spilled fuel around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
It is considered a dangerous situation until the spill can be cleaned up due to the possibility of fire.
Officials report the tanker spilled about 3,000 gallons of ethanol.
No fire reported at this time, according to Howard County Sheriff Stan Parker, speaking to KBYG News.
Traffic is being re-routed around that location in the meantime.
