ECTOR COUNTY – A seven year old Odessa boy is dead and two others were seriously injured in an accident last week.

The accident happened on Interstate 20 near mile marker 106 on Dec. 30.

DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, a 2003 Ford F-350 pickup truck was traveling east on I-20 when the vehicle hit a patch of ice, skid off the roadway through the median and into the path of an 18-wheeler heading west on Interstate 20.

One passenger in the pickup truck, seven year old Zachery Blake, was killed in the accident.

Two other passengers in the truck, 14-year-old Nathan Blake and 12-year-old Brianna Blake were seriously injured in the accident. Nathan was transported in critical condition and Brianna was taken to a Lubbock Hospital by helicopter.

The driver of the pickup truck and the driver of the big rig were not injured in the accident.
