Odessa Police Department Press Release
Odessa Police arrested Gibson for Retaliation "3rd Degree Felony" and Public Intoxication "Class C Misdemeanor". Officers located an intoxicated male subject in the 4200 block of North Grandview. The male subject, identified as Gibson, was placed into custody for public intoxication.
While Gibson was being transported to the ECLEC, he became aggressive and began making verbal threats against Corporal Chris Aguilar. Gibson stated that when he got out jail that he was going to put a .45 to Corporal Chris Aguilar's temple and find Corporal Aguilar's family.
The entire incident was recorded on the officer's audio recording system inside his patrol vehicle. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Gibson was additionally charged with Obstruction or Retaliation, a 3rd Degree Felony and was booked into the ECLEC.
Odessa Police arrested Tinner on 12-28-14 at approximately 1732 hours for two counts of Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant "1st Degree Felony", Evading Arrest or Detention with Prior Convictions "State Jail Felony", and Assault By Strangulation (Family Violence) "3rd Degree Felony".
While in the 4100 block of Andrews Highway, officers located a male subject matching the description of a wanted felon. The subject was identified as Tinner. Dispatch advised Tinner had four felony warrants out for his arrest. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Tinner was charged and arrested accordingly.
Odessa Police arrested Stone on 12-27-14 at approximately 0058 hours for Burglary of a Habitation, a 2nd Degree Felony. Officers responded to the 7000 block of Pinecrest Avenue in reference to a burglary in progress. Officers responded to the residence with lights and sirens on.
Upon arrival, officers observed a female subject, later identified as Stone, coming out of the residence with a hammer in each hand. The residents of the burglarized house advised officers they threw an object that struck Stone in the forehead to keep her from coming into the residence. Stone was charged and arrested accordingly.
Odessa Police arrested Rubio on 12-26-14 at approximately 1200 hours for Possession of Marijuana "Class B Misdemeanor" and two felony warrants for Intoxication Manslaughter "2nd Degree Felony". Officers observed a gray Ford Mustang traveling southbound in the 1100 block of South Dixie with an expired registration sticker.
A traffic stop was conducted in the 1100 block of Rose and the front passenger was identified as Rubio. Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered a bag of marijuana in the center console. Rubio openly stated that the marijuana was his. Officers searched Rubio and discovered a crack pipe in his front jean pockets that is commonly used to smoke crack cocaine. Rubio was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia for use.
A warrant check through dispatch revealed that Rubio had two felony warrants for intoxication manslaughter out of Ector County. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Rubio was charged and arrested accordingly. Rubio also received a citation for the crack pipe.
Odessa Police arrested Valenzuela for Aggravated Assault (Family Violence) "2nd Degree Felony" and Possession of Cocaine "State Jail Felony". Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black 2006 Lincoln Signature in the 3100 block of Center and the driver was identified as Valenzuela.
A warrant check revealed Valenzuela had a felony warrant for aggravated assault and he was placed into custody for the warrant. Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered cocaine near the driver's seat. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Valenzuela was charged and arrested accordingly.
Odessa Police arrested Cadena for Criminal Mischief "State Jail Felony" and Criminal Mischief "Class A Misdemeanor". While in the Walgreens parking lot, located at 801 Maple, officers observed a male subject matching the description of wanted felon for criminal mischief.
Officers made contact with the subject, identified as Cadena. Dispatch advised Cadena had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest, including a felony criminal mischief warrant. Cadena was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Odessa Police arrested Escobedo on 12-27-14 at approximately 0231 hours for Assault By Strangulation (Family Violence), a 3rd Degree Felony. Officers responded to the 200 block of Orchard in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 43-year-old female, who advised her common-law husband, later identified as Escobedo, had punched her in the mouth with a closed fist.
