ODESSA - Odessa Police are looking for a murder suspect by the name of Kourtney Lynn Powell. Officials say he was involved in a shooting at 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Billy's Zodiac Club in Odessa.

26-year-old Lester Starling, III, was killed and two people remain at Medical Center Hospital.

A witness who heard gunshots, and would asked to remain anonymous said, "We just chilled out for a minute and then next thing you know, you heard pow, pow, pow, I was like wow and then I heard two more. I'm ducking cause I'm like, what is going on? So then I said somebody got shot."

"What was told to me was people shooting here, people shooting there and my brother just happened to be one of the ones that got hit," the victim's sister, Shaniqua Starling, said.

Witnesses say that five gunshots were fired and out of those five shots, three people were hit. Lester Starling just so happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

"This is his child, his son is never going to grow to see his daddy again and I honestly think that they just need to bury him under the jail because this makes no sense to me. And I just want him to know, I just want to ask him, how do you feel right now? If he feels any better knowing the fact that he took a father, a son and a brother away from all of us," Shaniqua Starling said.

Starlings' family says that he was a good person, was loved by everyone and was ready to get his life on the right track.

"My brother, he was trying to make his life right. He was going to get married, all of that, raise his child like he was supposed to. Now, he can't even do that much," Shaniqua Starling said.

His family urges anyone who has information on the shooter to call police so that the man who did this can be brought to justice.

"If ya'll see him please, please call police and turn him in because he is not worth saving to nobody. If he can take my brothers life, he can take theirs as well. So, nobody should want to protect somebody like that," Shaniqua Starling said.

Odessa Police are asking for your help in locating Powell.
