MIDLAND - The City of Midland is negotiating a deal to bring a multi-purpose building to downtown.
Council members approved negotiating exclusively with Hotel Santa Rita Number One.
They'll have until the end of March to come up with an agreement.
Earlier this month, developers pitched the idea to the City Council.
The project would bring in hotels, apartments, businesses, restaurants and a gym.
It would be built where the old county courthouse is now.
The architect says they won't ask for city taxes.
They'll raise money through fundraisers for the project.
