ODESSA – Three people are behind bars following an incident on Tuesday.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 2300 block of Country Club Drive in reference to a stolen trailer.

A complainant told police that someone tried to steal his trailer but that he was able to recover it.

The owner told police that he saw a white Chevrolet truck in the alley behind his home leaving with his trailer.

The trailer owner stated that he followed the truck while honking his horn to have the driver stop.

When the trailer stopped, the driver, 25-year-old Jake Craft, told the trailer owner that he was a repo man but the owner told Craft that he didn't have a lien on the trailer. Craft then disconnected the trailer from the truck.

Craft then fled the scene and when officers arrived, the owner gave the license plate of the white Chevy truck to officers and an investigation revealed that the truck had been stolen earlier in the day from Oilfield Heavy Haulers.

The truck was later found in the 12000 block of West Cowden where officers followed the stolen truck and conducted a traffic stop.

Officials say Craft, along with 28-year-old Jeannie Riley and 25-year-old Tiffany Overby, were in the truck and the trailer owner positively identified Craft as the same person who took his trailer.

It was later learned through police interviews that Craft and Riley stole the trailer.

Also, during a search of the stolen truck, officers found a bag of cocaine between Riley and Overby.

Craft has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft, and a warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Riley is facing charges of fraudulent use of identifying information warrant, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft, possession of cocaine and a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.
