MIDLAND - A Midland man was arrested this week and is being accused of breaking his baby's leg.

Sheriff's deputies were called out to Midland Memorial Hospital back in November in reference to a child abuse victim.

23-year-old Delfino Esquivel told them he woke up to feed the baby and that he heard a pop while changing the diaper.

That's when he brought the baby to the hospital.

However, during a polygraph test last week, Esquivel stated that he got upset that the baby would not straighten his left leg while he was trying to swaddle him.

He admitted to pushing down on the baby's left leg, breaking it.

He's being charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.
