Midland Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges, Neighbors React

MIDLAND - Many neighbors were shocked when they found out 47-year-old Kyle Unterbrink is facing federal charges for distributing child pornography. A mugshot of Unterbrink was not immediately available, but sources confirmed his Facebook account.

Homeland Security Agents were informed back in November of someone sharing disturbing images of children online. That led them to Unterbrink's home in the 3700 block of Stanolind Avenue in Midland, a block a way from Rusk Elementary and Lee High School.

"We're a block from a school. That's why we moved here; to make sure our kids were safe, and to have somebody living down the street from us two houses down is kind of crazy," Jerry and Raquelle Trimble said.

Neighbors say Unterbrink is a pizza delivery man but mostly kept to himself.

Special agents served a search warrant Thursday morning and found Unterbrink in his garage. According to the report, he told them that he knew why they were there and that he "didn't want to play any games."

Court documents say that hundreds of images of child pornography were found on his laptop in the initial investigation. In one of the images, you can see a three-year-old girl being gagged with a black cloth, she is wrapped with a rope and hanging upside down by her feet.

In another, a 12-month-old child is the victim.

The report details a third image of a six-month-old girl being manipulated with needle-nose pliers.

The thought of these images disturbed many neighbors, especially with so many kids living in the area.

If convicted, Unterbrink will face a minimum of five years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender. His next court appearance is December 16th.
