UPDATE: One Killed, One Arrested Following Afternoon Accident in Odessa

ODESSA - One person is dead and another person has been arrested following an afternoon accident in Odessa.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to a major accident at 42nd & McKnight just after noon on Thursday.

Investigation revealed that a white Chevy Silverado and a grey Mustang were traveling eastbound on 42nd Street and a maroon Ford Expedition was in the left turning lane attempting to turn south onto McKnight.

We're told the Mustang failed to control speed and hit the Maroon expedition. The collision caused the maroon Expedition into a yard.

The driver of the Ford Mustang, 22-year-old Zach Landry, was killed in the accident.

The driver of the Silverado, 21-year-old Riley Porter, has been arrested on charges of racing.

The driver of the maroon Expedition, 37-year-old Robert DeLeon was taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
