HOBBS, N.M. - An Arizona man was arrested in Hobbs after he gave officers some trouble during a traffic stop.

Police got a call on Sunday afternoon that workers over at the stripes on East Marland would not sell alcohol to 58-year-old Salvador Samaniego because he appeared to be intoxicated.

Officers spotted his vehicle on Dal Paso and noticed that he was speeding and swerving on the road.

Samaniego finally stopped after police followed him for about a mile.

Officers noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred.

He also became agitated while doing a couple of sobriety tests and even moved aggressively towards an officer.

Police also found an empty bottle of tequila and several cans of beer in his vehicle.

Samaniego is facing multiple charges including aggravated DWI and assault on a peace officer.
