56-year-old Richard Dossenback

Odessa Police arrested Dossenback on 12-6-14 at approximately 1523 hours for Assault on a Public Servant, a 3rd Degree Felony. Officers responded to 10th and Dixie in reference to an intoxicated male subject fighting with a knife. Upon arrival, officers made contact with several subjects behind Dairy Queen in the 1000 block of North Dixie.

While making contact with one of the subjects, identified as Dossenback, he kicked an OPD officer in her right lower leg twice, causing bodily injury. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Dossenback was charged and arrested accordingly.

38-year-old Cesar Cortez and 29-year-old Ricardo Mendoza

Odessa Police arrested Cortez on 12-7-14 at approximately 0900 hours for Fugitive From Justice – Battery Upon a Peace Officer "4th Degree Felony". Odessa Police also arrested Mendoza on 12-7-14 at approximately 0900 hours for Assault on a Public Servant, a 3rd Degree Felony. Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Dixie in reference to an abandoned building.

OPD had received numerous complaints of ongoing fights, intoxicated subjects, and vandalisms at this specific location. Upon arrival, officers made contact with two subjects, identified as Cortez and Mendoza. Investigation revealed that Cortez was wanted out of Las Cruces, New Mexico for two counts of battery upon a peace officer.

Further investigation revealed that Mendoza was wanted out of Corpus Christi, Nueces County for assault on a public servant. Both Cortez and Mendoza were charged and arrested accordingly. The mug shot of Cortez was provided by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. The mug shot of Mendoza was provided by the Nueces County Sheriff's Office.

63-year-old Billy Roland Scott

Odessa Police arrested Scott on 12-6-14 at approximately 0015 hours for Aggravated Assault Family Violence, a 2nd Degree Felony. Officers responded to the 1400 block of Hemphill in reference to an incomplete 9-1-1 call. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject, identified as Scott.

Investigation revealed that after Scott and his 15-year-old grandson got into an argument, Scott hit his grandson on the head with a wooden rolling pin, causing bodily injury. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Scott was charged and arrested accordingly.

20-year-old Deshawn Payton

Odessa Police arrested Payton on 12-6-14 at approximately 0440 hours for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a State Jail Felony. A traffic stop was conducted on a green Mazda and the driver was identified as Payton. Investigation revealed the listed vehicle had been reported stolen from the area of 19th and Golder back on 10-23-14. Payton was interviewed by detectives and was charged and arrested accordingly.

34-year-old JaQuan Dante Murry

Odessa Police arrested Murry on 12-7-14 at approximately 1302 hours for Possession of Cocaine "State Jail Felony", Possession of Marijuana "Class B Misdemeanor", Driving While License Invalid with Prior Convictions "Class B Misdemeanor", No Proof of Insurance with Prior Convictions "Class B Misdemeanor', and two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Officers observed a red 1998 Ford Explorer traveling northbound in the 100 block of South Tom Green displaying an expired inspection sticker and an expired registration sticker. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Murry. While making contact with Murry, officers observed a white rock like substance on the floor by the driver's seat. The substance tested positive for cocaine.

Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered more cocaine on the floor in front of the driver's seat. Officers also located a package containing marijuana. A warrant check revealed Murry had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Murry was charged and arrested accordingly.

35-year-old Destiny Rios

Odessa Police arrested Rios on 12-5-14 at approximately 1249 hours for Theft of Property with at least Two Prior Convictions, a State Jail Felony. Officers responded to 2450 NW Loop 338 (Wal-Mart West) in reference to a shoplifter. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Wal-Mart personnel, who advised they observed a female subject conceal several food products and exit the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.

The female subject, identified as Rios, was placed into custody for theft. Investigation revealed Rios had 3 prior convictions for theft. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Rios was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC. The Beef Chimi, Popcorn Chx, Egg Roll, Smokey Bacon Cheese products were returned to Wal-Mart.

55-year-old John Morrison

Odessa Police arrested Morrison on 12-6-14 at approximately 1244 hours for Possession of Cocaine, a State Jail Felony. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet truck in the 400 block of Nelson and the driver was identified as Morrison. Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered cocaine between the driver's seat and driver's door. Officers located more cocaine on the floorboard and underneath the driver's seat. Morrison was charged and arrested accordingly.

55-year-old Edward Earl Brady
