Share the Spirit, Fifth Annual Nativity exhibit hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The opening of the exhibit kicks off tonight at 4805 Gateway, Midland, Texas.
The Exhibit will feature numerous nativities from many lands.
It will be open Friday, December the 5th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM, Saturday the 6th from 4:00 – 9:00 PM, and Sunday the 7th from 2:00 – 7:00 PM.
There is no admission charge.
The Nativity exhibit will also include, for the first time, a private collection of seven centuries of Bibles; the oldest of which was published in Venice in 1492 and includes gold leafing. Also included in the collection is a 20” Royal Bible, published for King George II and also owned by a famous Egyptologist, and a Geneva Bible from the 1600's, which version the pilgrims would have used. Additionally, the display will feature Napoleon Bonaparte's personal prayer book. The Bibles will be on display, open to the nativity story and other relevant passages relating to the birth of Jesus.
This year, short nativity videos will be shown throughout the day and a nativity reenactment will take place at multiple times on Saturday.
Additionally,children of all ages can enjoy holiday crafts, children's nativities, and a scavenger hunt.
Live groups will perform some of their favorite Christmas music on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday the event will conclude with a special broadcast featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
